The Rules!
So you want to become a Guinness record holder eh? Obey the list below!
1. Must be human powered, single person.
2. Flat surface, that is dry, asphalt or cement, including the
approach.
3. A marked start point to signal the start of braking.
4. Attempt must consist of two (2) skids going in opposite directions
on the same section of pavement. This is to take into account wind or
possible slight incline/decline.
5. Both attempts must be started and completed within a one hour time
frame.
6. Upon crossing the start line, the clock starts, braking should
start, and measurement starts at the point the rear bicycle tire stops
turning. Skid ends when forward momentum ceases or the pneumatic tire
bursts.
7. Only one attempt at the record can be made on any given day.
8. The official distance is the average of the two skids within the 1
hour timeframe.
9. Both skids must be made with the same bicycle with only the changing
of the tire/tube allowed.
10. May use a single bicycle of any style with pneumatic tire.
11. Must wear a bicycle helmet of any style.
These are the rules I followed and most (those that don't strictly apply
to bicycles) are generally accepted in the international motorsport
community. I believe these rules promote fairness for any other
individual who may want to challenge this World Record.
